Completion of Construction
Gap Filler Radar Stations, Various

  1. Ten (10) Gap Filler Radar Stations had been completed to about 95% when the contracts were terminated as the result of the austerity programme. The following ten (10) sites are involved and may include an additional one or two:

    Elliot LakeSt Joseph
    Formosa RelocatedTimmins
    Lac Ste MarieTobermory

  2. The work to be completed next year consists of the following items:

    1. Access Road - final gravelling and shaping, repair of damage to surface, ditches and culverts.

    2. Building Site - final grading and clean-up

    3. Radar Building - final electrical and mechanical work

    4. Power & Accommodation Building - installation of diesel alternator set and associated equipment, final electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.

    5. Fuel Oil Storage Facilities - final piping

    6. Electrical Grounding System - final testing

    7. Commercial Power Line and Transformers

  3. A decision is requested as to whether CEU might be able to complete the outstanding work. It is to be noted that work would have to proceed concurrently on particularly all sites in order to meet anticipated BODs.
