Care and Custody
Gap Filler Radar Stations
Further to your S10-136-80/5 (DCEM) of 13 Mar 1963 to ADC regarding care and custody of Gap Filler Radar Stations where buildings have been erected, it is requested that ADC be asked to assume responsibilities for care and custody of the radar towers which have been erected.
This additional responsibility will add the following stations to the previous list:

No security fencing has been erected at the following sites where towers have been erected:
Atikokan | Joint radar & forestry tower is being used by forestry personnel |
Bridgetown | Site on private land |
Chapleau | Site on Crown land |
Formosa | Site on farm land |
Lucknow | Site on farm land |
Sparta | Site on farm land |
Westport | Site on private land |
It is requested that ADC be asked to barricade the stairs of the a/n towers (except at Atikokan) in order to prevent legal caused by injury to persons climbing the towers. It is considered that the tower at Westport is extremely dangerous as it is only 5 miles from the summer resort area and has already been climbed by a large number of people, including children.
It is also requested that all sites visited by ADC be well posted with DND NO TRESPASSING Signs.
