Draft Specification for Access Road
Gap Filler Radar Stations
The following comments are submitted with reference to the attached draft specifications for the access road to the Gap Filler Radar Station at Whitefish Lake:
- After para 3, Scope of Work, include new paragraph, Work Not Included, which should read as follows:
Clearing, Grubbing, and Close Cutting for the Access Road allowance will not be carried out under this Section of the Specification, but that work will be performed and paid for under Section 4 (k) of this Supplementary Specifications.
- In para 4, delete reference to merchantable timber, burning, payment, stumpage fees for timber.
- In para 4, delete reference to deviation from sugested route. No approval will be required for route selected by contractor which will likely be the shortest and most direct alignment. If private property is involved the Project Manager will advise any restrictions which will have to be met.
- In para 4, change last sentence to read: "The Access Road does not have to be constructed to the Standards shown on the plans and profiles."
- In para 5, drawing numbers W57-2-1000-6 to 13 should read W57-8-1000-6 to 13
- In para 6, add that the contractor shall be responsible for maintenance and repair of damage his operations to public and private roads caused by the contractor in reaching the beginning of the access road.
