Referring to your letter of February 17th, our Agent again called on Mr Fuller in an effort to obtain an option on the site previously selected for the above requirement.
Mr Fuller again stated that the elevatd area is of sand and that he had prospects of selling it in the near future to some road building contractor for use in making asphalt paving. Soil tests were not undertaken so we have only Mr Fuller's word that there is sand in this area. Nothing is known of the quantity or quality of the soil and there is no indication at present as to whom this sand could be sold or for what use. The owner is very firm in his asking price of $2,500.00 for the land required which is estimated to be approximately 2 acres, including the accesss road.
The farm on the east side of this road is owned by Mr fuller and he would be willing to sell 2 acres of this site at the southwest corner of his property for the sum of $500.00. There is an elevation in the land at this point, just south of Mr Fuller's line fence which, according to our contour plans, is approximately the same elevation, but most of it is on adjoining property owned by Mr Lloyd Cole. This land is adjacent to the travelled road and unless some technical difficulties might be experienced at this point, we would appreciate your comments in attempting to obtain an agreement in this location.
Enclosed for your information is sketch plan showing both areas. The distances shown on the sketch for the required area are approximate. When our Agent first inspected this site with your representative, he was informed that it would be about 1200 feet west of the road.
If the land originally selected is to be acquired, we would, if possible, appreciate having accurate measurements so that we might calculate the area of the site and the access road.
