    When the 8th AF made their bomb runs into Schweinfurt, the groups would use the Wuerzburg Castle as the IP or "initial point". This is where they turned and lined up for there bomb runs against the ball bearings plants in Schweinfurt. In March 1945, the Britsh RAF came in and bombed Wuerzburg. Some compared it to the bombing of Dresden.
