Comments from Historical Records:

232251W LAW PJ Maltais was stationed in Metz France at the time of her death. She died as the result of a car accident between the City of Metz and the Chateau de Mercy. She was buried in the Choloy Canadian Military Cemetery - Section 8 Row G Grave 13.

Comments by Evelyn Sartoretto (now Buckley):

I was married at Metz, and Pat Hogan was my bridesmaid. She later married Joe Maltais. There was slushy ice on the road when they were driving home from work and their car went off the road. Pat was killed. I attended her funeral but I did not know that she was buried at Choloy. I had always thought that her parents took her body back to Canada.
