1 Air Division HQ
With the formation of a TACC and the subsequent transfer of direct operational control from the HQ Operations Room (COC) to the TACC, the peacetime function of the COC is limited to the continuous display of current status, (Operational, Logistic and Personnel). The following personnel positions can now be deleted from 61 AC&W Squadron establishment. (Code 10 CA 250 dated 1 Jul 57):

The new organization will also release the Wing Operations Room personnel to be divided amongst the three squadrons, with the Wing Ops retaining a small peacetime coordinating staff. The presently established D/COpsO (1 S/L) will be responsible to his CO for local flight services, flying discipline in the local area, and wing training flight. The following personnel positions can, therefore be deleted from the establishment, dated 1 Jul 57, at each of the (F) Wing HQs:

Each fighter squadron now details one aircrew officer as Duty Operations Officer for that squadron. To assist this officer in maintaining the necessary fighter, weather and airfield status and to provide the TACC with the necessary information, 2 FtrCops ACs will be required. However, until such times as sufficient positions can be obtained only 1 assistant can be allotted to each IDF and AW squadron (Reference subject letter para 7, these positions will be transferred from existing Air Division establishment at an early date). Therefore, it is requested that the following personnel positions be added to the establishments, dated 1 Jul 57, of each IDF and AWF Squadron:
