Detailed Functions of TACC
The detailed functions of the TACC are as follows:

To implement the orders of the AOC in the fulfillment of the assigned role of 1 Air Division. |
b |
To maintain direct control of RCAF aircraft assigned to air defence and strike missions and direct 61 AC&W Squadron for the most efficient utilization of those forces, exercising such control as has been delegated by the AOC or his authorized representative including the handover of aircraft to adjacent sectors as necessary. |

Collect and display pertinent information on air activities and the status of forces for air defence within 4 ATAF. |
d |
Disseminate specific operational and intelligence information to the COC, adjacent TACCs, 61 AC&W Squadron, and the IDF and AWX Squadrons. |

Exercise control of electronic radiations within 1 Air Div as specified in the Air Div War Plan. |
f |
Co-ordinate and implement exercises in time of peace as specified by Air Division directives. |
g |
Monitor subordinate unit implementation of surveillance and control procedures prescribed by pertinent directives. |

Analyze and determine dangers to aircraft resulting from the employment of thermo-nuclear, nuclear, chemical biological, or high explosive weapons against or near bases being utilized for aircraft under control of 61 AC&W Squadron, including dangers resulting from fall-out. |

Plot probable courses and intensities of the fall-out patterns of nuclear and thermo-nuclear weapons exploded in the UK and continental Europe and to warn 1 Air Division units of the potential dangers to them from radioactive fall-out. |

Transmit air raid alerts and warning to 1 Air Division installations and allied units as required, as determined from the TACC situation display. |

Ensure liaison within Allied Air Raid Warning control agencies. |

Maintain ground conditions status board in the TACC showing: (i) Serviceability and Ground/Air attack status of Allied Air installations likely to be used by aircraft under the control of 61 AC&W Squadron. (ii) Air Raid Alert status of 1 Air Division installations and bases being used by 1 Air Division. (iii) Probable fall-out pattern resulting from the explosion of nuclear or thermo-nuclear weapons within the range of 61 AC&W Squadron operations, including recorded radiation intensities as they become available. |

TACC Duty Analysis
Position – Sector Commander
The efficient functioning of the TACC; the operational control and reporting on the operational efficiency of assigned forces as directed by the AOC 1 Air Division.
The co-ordination of air operations with adjacent TACC and Sector Commanders.

Position – Sector Administrative Officer
To implement all directives from the Sector Commander and ensure conformation with existing operational procedures. Prepare and submit necessary reports on the conduct of missions or exercises as required by the pertinent Ops Orders or directives.
Procure and amend all applicable operations publications and charts to ensure the Duty Staff has current copies of same.
Process all incoming and outgoing operations and administrative correspondence.

Maintain a TACC historical record in accordance with AFAO 71.00/01.

Process all administrative matters in conjunction with the appropriate section of RCAF Support Unit, Metz.
Publish necessary shift schedules and maintain necessary leave, TD and extra duties for all TACC personnel.

Position – Duty Controller
Implement the orders of the Sector Commander in the fulfillment of the assigned role of 1 Air Division.

Supervise the states of preparedness and commitment of defence forces assigned to assure defence action against those hostile targets allocated to 1 Air Div by 12 AF and 1 CATAC ACCs for tactical action. |

Direct the states of preparedness for those air defence forces not previously committed, but which have been allotted to him by the Air Division Combat Operations Centre. |
c |
Maintain direct control of RCAF aircraft assigned to strike missions and ensure that the conduct of the mission is as specified by current directives. |

Request additional fighter forces from the appropriate authority when the situation warrants. |
Maintain direct liaison with the Duty Controller 61 AC&W Squadron and Squadron Ops Officers.
Co-ordinate with adjacent TACC and Sector Operations Centre Duty Controllers on all current air operations subjects.

Ensure dissemination of appropriate status, operations and intelligence information to the COC, adjacent TACCs, 61 AC&W Squadron and the Squadrons.
Supervise the receipt, analysis, plotting and dissemination of information received pertaining to the use of atomic, bacteriological or chemical weapons against bases or aircraft under RCAF control.
Ensure air raid alerts and warnings are transmitted to 1 Air Division units as required.
Order Search and Rescue action for RCAF aircraft emergencies and co-ordinate such action until the emergency is finalized.
Carry out such special duties as ordered by the Sector Commander.

To plot possible courses and intensities of the fall-out patterns of nuclear and thermo-nuclear weapons exploded in the UK and continental Europe and to warn 1 Air Division units of the potential dangers to them from radioactive fall-out. |

c |
To cross-tell fall-out plots to 1 Air Division HQ COC and to allied TACCs as required. |

d |
To transmit air raid alerts and warnings to 1 Air Division installations and allied units as required, as determined from the TACC situation display. |
