Operational Control Changes
1 Air Division RCAF
Reference is made to our classified message A0626 dated 18 Mar, subject – activation of No. 6 Tactical Air Control Centre, RCAF at Metz, France.
The activation of 6 ATCC and the changes made to the structure of the present Air Division Combat Operations Centre are the result of extensive studies made at this HQ to streamline the internal organization of the Air Division and thereby increase its operational efficiency.
In order that maximum benefit may be gained from these changes, it is of importance that all units of 4 ATAF and other agencies having operational contacts with the Air Division be familiar with the revised operational organization structure within the Division, and for this purpose an information document is attached as Appendix "A" to this letter. The appendix outlines the functions of the COC and TACC and the necessary changes to Wing and Squadron operational responsibilities.
The document is used as a guide pending the assessment of the new organization after which ADIs containing any amendments necessary will be published.
