December 53

Unit held its first Mess Dinner. AOC ADC and Group Commander #1 Group (Aux) attended.

Two Santa Claus parties held at this unit. One for unit member's children, the second for 120 orphans from local institutions.

A New Years Eve dance was held in the Mess.

January 54

Unit hockey team was formed for inter-service games.

Average strength declining due to many SOSs and slow recruiting. Week-end exercise at Lac St Denis produced 16 live intercepts. Five controllers flew with 104 "K" Flight at St Huberts for familiarization and liaison.

February 54

Week-end exercises at Lac St Denis. Nine controllers attended. Six live intercepts carried out, also 14 synthetics. Four officers on liaison with 104 "K" Flight at St Hubert and did some flying. To date 40 applicants for RTTP (B).

March 54

Not sufficient RTTP (B) enlisted to commence indoctrination. Hockey season finished with fair success in publicity for squadron. Sqn dart team won inter-service pennant.

Week-end exercise to Lac St Denis saw 20 officers and airmen attending. Poor flying weather; 2 live and 21 synthetic intercepts carried out.

6 April 54

Indoctrination of 40 RTTP (B) started.

12 May 54

Group Commander #1 Group (Aux) carried out inspection of unit.

16 May 54

Forty Officers and other ranks attended AOCs parade at Fletcher's Field in Montreal.
