Last local training parade for 1957. Holiday festivities consisted of a Christmas cocktail party in the Officers' Mess and a New Years Day reception when the officers were hosts to members of various Auxiliary Units in the area.

Training recommenced after Christmas recess.

F/L AW Tinmouth, CTrainO, relinquished his position due to pressure of civilian work. F/L K Baldwin, COpsO assumes position of CTrainO, and F/L T Hughes is delegated COpsO duties.

Recruiting for RTTP commenced. Inasmuch as total number required (30) small compared to number of applicants, it was decided to appoint a Board to make the actual selection of summer trainees.

Nine officers attempted Qualifying Examinations, Air Services Fighter Controller Trade.

Orderly Room clerk, LAC H Lacasse, posted to SIT course at Trenton for two weeks.

Five officers attempted General Service Knowledge qualifying exams.

Board convened to study applications for RTTP and selection made of 20 airmen for Fighter Control trade (three Air Cadets included in this total).

S/L R Pooke from CE Section visited the Squadron.

F/L AL Morrison represented Commanding Officer Air Cadet reception on occaison of S/L Lord's retirement.

S/L JAH Cameron, Commanding Officer, attended testimonial dinner at Sherbrooke Regiment honouring Lt Col AA Munster.

F/L Williams of SOAF branch ADC visited Unit on Accounts inspeciton.

S/L Sarty SOGT at 2450 AC&WS for short training discussion period.

Eighteen airmen attempted Trade Exams and seven officers wrote Phase I of Fighter Controllers course.

F/L MacKinnon CEO toured building and discussed construction problems.

S/L JAH Cameron, Commanding Officer, attended annual Air Cadet parade and inspection by W/C Anserson after which a reception was held in the Officers' Mess.

S/L Sarty SOGT conferred with Commanding Officer, RSO and CTrainO to discuss results of Qualifying Exams, and training problems.

Mess dinner held in Officers' Mess. W/C Lecompte, Commanding Officer RCAF Station St Sylvestre, was guest speaker.
26 Feb to 26 Apr 58
RTTP convene each Saturday morning during this period to complete Phase I of their training.
During this six months period, nine trips were made to RCAF Station St Sylvestre for weekend contact training, and four Phase III Fighter Controllers were provided supplementary weekend training at COC.
