The following is list of Historical events dating from 1 Dec 1958 to 30 Jun 1959 for 2451 AC&W Squadron (Auxiliary).
5 Jan 59
Three Officers F/O FM Hogan, F/O G Bain, F/O JW Morris promoted to rank of Flight Lieutenant effective 1 Jan 59.
The selection of 61 RTTP Personnel for the two month summer course started immediately after the Xmas and New Years stand down. Approximately 175 applications applied for the course. After careful screening by Instructional Staff approximately 90 were allowed to write CTs and complete medicals. From the 90, 61 were selected. The candidates were then measured for uniforms, and after completing all documentation started Phase I of their Training on 9 Mar 59, immediately after school exams. 24 hours of lectures were completed by 16 Apr when all wrote Phase I examination with 100% passing. Further to the 24 hours, personnel completed 2 hours per week (Saturday afternoon) on drill and clothing parades. All RTTP Personnel then stood down for their school examinations and reported back for Phase II of the course on 6 Jul 59.

During the month of April several Staff Officers paid visits to the Squadron, these included Group Captain Dennison #3 Sector Commander, Wing Commander Smith Commanding Officer Stn Foymount, several other officers from Stn Foymount, Stn Edgar, and Air Defence Command dropped in on their annual visit.

April 6, 1959 S/L JS Mencel relinguished Command of 2451 AC&W Squadron to F/L R Norwood, who was promoted to rank of Acting Squadron Leader on that date.
Operational training had been carried out with two American Units on weekends. Plus Local Training at Squadron Headquarters. Cross border training ceased at end of May. Local Training for month of June was stepped up. Crews received intensive training on weekends in preparations for Wray Day Test to be held during summer camp.

June 13 the Orchestra part of Training Command Band played for a Squadron Dance held at Unit Headquarters.
14 Jun 59
June 14, 2451 AC&W Sqn with two Air Cadet Squadrons, #13 and #310 paraded in Air Force Day Parade, lead by Training Command Band. The Reviewing Officer Air Commodore DAR Bradshaw DFC, CD, Deputy Air Officer Commanding Operations, Air Defence Command, laid a wreath at Cenotaph and took the salute on March Past. This parade was first activity of Squadron in respects to 50th Anniversary of flight in Canada.
28 Jan 59
The 28 June Sunday, the Squadron again participated in activity of 50th Anniversary of flight in a parade with other militia units in the Dedication Ceremonies at Dieppe Park, Windsor, Ontario.
29 Jun 59
2451 AC&W Squadron (Aux) RCAF ended its training for the period on 25 Jun with staff meeting on 29 terminating all activities except for summer camp 1st two weeks of July and RTTP course July and August.
