A new cordless switchboard at 2452 Sqn went into effect. This system replaced the old intercom sets that had been in operation since the Squadron first occupied these premises.

Regular Trainig nights were discontinued for the Christmas Season.

The usual "At Home" reception was given by the Officers of 2452 to Officers and Dignitaries of Quebec City.

The annual Squadron Childrens Xmas party was held. All ranks attended as well as Officers and other ranks from RCAF Recruiting Unit Quebec City.

Regular drill nights started after the Christmas break.

F/L GA Fuller, F/O M Hawrysh and F/O RJ Steinhubl from 5000 Intelligence Unit Montreal addressed 19 Officers and 6 Other Ranks on an introductory presentation on "The Soviet Threat".

Qualifying Examination for Officers were written.

38 Officers attended the first "Mess Dinner" held in the Unit. Outside caterers were engaged and the meal served at the Unit - another first. The evening proved highly successful.

The Officers of 2452 attended the lecture by the AOC ADC A/V/M LE Wray, OBE, AFC, CD, at the United Services Institute - subject "Air Defence of North America". Tri-service officers were entertained after the address in the Officers' Mess of this Unit and thr Royal Rifles of Canada.

At a special parade held in the Drill Hall on Grande Allee, Brigadier JV Allard, CBE, DSO, ED, presented Canadian Forces Decorations to the following:

Following the parade, at which the band of the Royal 22nd Regiment was present, Brig Allard and other invited Officers were entertained in the Officers Mess at an informal gathering. The CO, S/L G Taschereau, DFC, Cd, presented a model CF-100 to the Brigadier. Press coverage including TV and Radio was arranged as well as home town release on F/O Furneaux (St Catherines Ont).

Eight RMC Cadets were informally received by the Commanding Offier and Officers of 2452, together with three course instructors. The event was prompted by the graduation of course cadet commander DH Gregory, who had been granted a commission in the RCAF effective this date. Suitable home town releases of Cadet Gregory being congratulated by S/L G Taschereau was arranged for Hamilton (Ont) newspapers.
7 May 57
F/L MA Everard PRO from ADC, visited the Squadron to finalize press, TV and Radio arrangements for Nimble Bat III with the Squadron PRO. Close cooperation from all sections of 2452 enabled a large percentage of Quebec News Services to attend the ceremonies at Bagotville on 9 May. The French CBC radio network from Moncton NB to Alberta carried a 15 minute transcription of the event. Film taken at Bagotville was also shown on the CBC French TV network through telejournal.11 May 57
The last "Dining-in" of the season was held preceded by cocktails at the Squadron, dinner at "the Porte St Jean" and dancing at the Squadron's Mess afterwards. Among the distinguished guests were G/C AM Jardine, CD, CO RCAF Stn St Hubert, G/C JH Greenhalgh and S/L W Walker, Commanding Officer 2416 AC&W Sqn Uplands Ont.
