INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWUs) on a 24 hour basis. The plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWUs Class "A" and Class "B"
It has been decided to form 2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) as a Class "B" Unit, at Victoria, BC.
INTENTION
To form 2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve), Victoria, BC.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2455 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) is to form effective 15 Jan 51.
Functions
To train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC, NWAC.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2455 ACWU (Res) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para 2 (xv).
Control
Functional control is to be exercised by the AOC, NWAC through Group Commander 12 Grp, Vancouver, BC.
Administrative control is to be exercised by AOC NWAC.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
The standard establishment for Class "B" (Reserve) ACWU's is to become effective 15 Jan 51.
Personnel
The transfer and posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and AOC, NWAC.
Equipment & Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies to be arranged by the AOC NWAC, and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and equipment accounting is to be provided by CO RCAF Station Sea Island.
Accommodation
Working accommodation is to be provided by AFHQ through AOC NWAC.
No domestic or messing accommodation is available and personnel are entitled to draw appropriate allowances in lieu.
