F/L MacMahon JL, Staff Officer ADCHQ visited this unit to discuss operations training for auxiliary Controllers and FtrCOps.
6 Dec 59
A CO's parade was held. S/L Rg Ings commended the unit on the excellent drill procedures.
20 Dec 59
Last parade was held before Xmas standdown. A children's party was held for all members of the Sqn and their families.
12 Jan 60
Annual social for NCOs took place in the Officers Mess.
14 Jan 60
Lectures were given by F/L Sawyer and F/O Bernakevitch in preparation for the GSK exams.
15 - 17 Jan 60
A training operation was carried out at Stn Cold Lake. Airlift for 8 officers and 15 other ranks was provided by Cold Lake personnel.
24 Jan 60
QE Exams were held. Fourteen officers were eligible to write.
28 Jan 60
A preparation lecture for officers GSK exam was given by F/O Bernakevitch EdO.
7 Feb 60
Thirteen officers wrote QE Exams.
19 - 21 Feb 60
The monthly weekend training program at Stn Cold Lake was carried out by 8 officers and 15 other ranks.
25 Feb 60
A staff visit was paid to this unit by S/L EH Shaw SOAC 5 Air Div.
4 Mar 60
S/L RG Ings was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration.
24 Mar 60
A NORAD training film on SAGE was shown to all members of the unit. Cpl Melanson Rdr Tech Regular Support staff, gave a short briefing beforehand.
18 - 20 Mar 60
Four officers and 13 other ranks proceeded to Stn Cold Lake for training purposes.
25 Mar 60
Cpl G Macartney Clk Admin Regular Support Staff, was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration.
27 Mar 60
A CO's parade was held. S/L RG Ings announced the commissioning from the ranks of Sgt J Gray and Sgt FMJ Dwyer FtrCOp's.
31 Mar 60
A promotion party was held by Sqn members. Games and refreshments followed the normal parade hours. The social evening was held in honour of Sgt's Gray and Dwyer, Cpl BA Davis and LAC EJ Dunlop.
21 Apr 60
An invitation was forwarded to G/C Kelly, CO, 30 Wing Aux, to inspect the unit on parade. Constructive criticism of appearance and drill procedure was given to the Sqn by G/C Kelly.
22 - 24 Apr 60
Monthly airlift to Cold Lake for training was carried out.
24 Apr 60
Airmen's trade exams were held. The following number of personnel were eligible for these: 2 for Clk Acc, 1 for Rdr Tech (G) (C&W), 9 for FtrCOp, 1 for Clk Adm. Three Officers wrote Phase 1 Controllers exams.

A dining-in night was held by the officers of the unit in honour of A/C AD Ross, Cdr, 5 Air Div. Guests included wives of members of this unit, W/C Lawlor from Stn Cold Lake, A/C Ross and Mrs Ross, former Commanding Officers of 2403 Sqn and their wives, Commanding Officer and their wives from units under 30 Wing, Stn Calgary. 2403 AC&W Sqn crests were presented to A/C Ross and W/C Lawlor, in lieu of their last visit to the Sqn.
1 May 60
S/L RG Ings and 6 other officers proceeded on a weekend training trip to 919 AC&W Sqn USAF Saskatoon Mtn. Airlift was provided by personnel from 403 (T) Sqn (Aux).
3 May 60
S/L R Pook arrived at the unit on a technical liaison visit.
