Dual channel switching without Diplex Gating Unit (DGU) on the FPS-508B (which was the Canadian version of the FPS-20) turned the FPS-508B into the FPS-87A. See the
FPS-20 page for additional detail. The FPS-87 was a search radar system which operated on the L band. It was developed by Bendix and was used in SAGE operations. The FPS-87 was based on the AN/FPS-20.Locations:
