Exercise "Check Point" carried out from 0900Z hours 9 Jul to 2300Z hours 11 Jul. 32 AC&W Squadron fulfilled the role of a GCI Squadron with three Squadrons - 420, 424 and 438 based at Uplands under operational control. A tremendous improvement over previous exercises was noted. This was obviously due to the increased efficiency of the personnel as well as equipment and communications, however, there is still much room for improvement. Exercise "Check Point" was of extreme benefit to all those participating. Much improvement was shown over previous exercises and again weaknesses in the system came to light. With more communications being added all the time and a concentrated effort on training and cooperation between sub-sectors, the AC&W System will be nearer to the ultimate goal of a smooth-running, efficient organization. Reserve Squadrons from Calgary and Ottawa under 4112 S/L GE Sarginia OC 2403 Squadron (Aux) Calgary and 121919 S/L AA Kennigar OC 2416 Squadron (Aux) Ottawa participated in Exercise "Check Point" along with regular personnel of 32 AC&W Squadron.
