Operations:

The AN/GPS-T5 was removed and shipped back to depot. Maintenance of the equipment was good and the operational capability of this activity has remained constant and the performance of our mission completed. Operations for the period of this report were normal and routine with no outstanding or difficult problems being encountered. The following training hours were accomplished by operations personnel using the following equipment: AN/GPS-T2 56:00 hours, ECCM training 40:00 hours.

Personnel:

During this period Major Jess O Yaryan (Commander) departed for his ConUS assignment and the duty was assumed by Captain Archie L Nesbitt C&E Officer for this unit. The new Administrative Officer, Lt. Henry L Pierce arrived and assumed the duties from Lt. Joyce. Lt. Joyce departed for the ConUS after the arrival of his replacement Lt. Maurice K Robinson Jr. During this period the Operations Officer Captain Audrey R Knox was scheduled for departure to the ConUS, and his duties were also assumed by Captain Nesbitt. M/Sgt. Dudley (First Sergeant) was scheduled for departure to the ConUS, this duty was assumed by M/Sgt. LN Nemeck (Personnel NCOIC). A/1C Mears, A/1C HL Richardson and A/3C Ham were Airman of the months for this period. A/1C Mears was nominated to 64^th Air Division as Airman of the Quarter. During this period this unit has an average of 15 personnel on OJT.

Facilities:

Snow removal was necessary through the month of May necessitating the following manhours: 95 manhours for the month of April and 35 manhours for the month of May. A total snowfall of 29 inches was recorded up to the first week in May. Electrical power generated by the power plant diesels were as follows: 275,520 KW for April, 105,000 KW for May and 101,000 KW for June. Two members of the Mobile Maintenance Team arrived this station to overhaul the two boilers in the Heating Plant. Inspections indicated the boilers as being in excellent condition. Hydrostatic tests were performed on the 1000 gallon water tank located in the heating plant. At the termination of the boiler inspection the heating plant was thoroughly cleaned and the floors repainted. All of the 926^th AC&W Squadron projects were cancelled due to closing out of this station. On site personnel, however, were used successfully to install much needed flush-type boilers in lieu of the outmoded and inefficient pumper-type. Cancellation of the Marconi Contract for overhauling the 926^th diesels resulted in inside minor overhaul by power plant personnel. This overhaul was performed and completed successfully.

Supply:

Projects not completed in the first quarter of the year were continued i.e., preparation of new custody receipts, correction of misidentified equipment, alignment and research on all PCSP property as per 100 series ECL’s. The entire tech supply section, consisting of approximately 8,000 line items was inventoried and adjusted. Rewarehousing was accomplished as required. The squadron was alerted for deactivation, all projects were stopped and preparations were made to comply with all inactivation directives.

Community Relations:

This organization held an open house on Armed Forces Day. Approximately 500 natives and Canadian citizens were given a complete tour of this organization.

Morale:

Morale is very high at this station. Squadron health remains in a satisfactory condition with treatments being minor in nature.
