The 4754th Radar Evaluation Squadron out of Hill AFB, Utah, conducted an evaluation of the Height and Search radars. This evaluation resulted in a realistic appraisal of the capabilities and the limitations of the radar. The Depot level overhaul of the GPA-35 PPI scopes has been completed. This overhaul has resulted in more time being available to train the inexperienced maintenance personnel recently assigned. The Zero Defects Program was initiated within the section. Parts support which has been a problem within the last quarter has eased somewhat with the approach of a new fiscal year. Division quality control also conducted the semi-annual inspection during May. Personnel who arrived during the quarter are: 1st Lt. Carlstead, SM/Sgt. Snapp, S/Sgt. WO 112-66 Replace steam and condensate lines under serving line 100% complete. WO 123-66 Repair incinerator 100% complete. Unit Supply and Food Services: The main theme for this quarter was the Inspector Generals Team from Headquarters First Air Force. Both Unit Supply and the Dining Hall were rated as satisfactory. The theater seats which arrived last quarter were installed this quarter by squadron volunteers. New Custody Receipt Listings were received from BEMO during this period. All listings were checked, verified, and forwarded back to BEMO. Action has been initiated to consolidate the present twelve BEMO accounts into six. Rehabilitation of the kitchen area in the Dining Hall has started, but is not yet completed. There has been considerable improvement in the appearance of this area. Contract painters have painted the Dry Storage Area in the Dining Hall as well as the hallways and the Dining Room. During this quarter Unit Supply has lost one airman and gained one. Four cooks have been lost and five gained. Administration: The most important event of this period was the General Inspection of the 641st AC&W Squadron conducted by Major George H Anderson and personnel from the Office of the Inspector General First Air Force during the period of 7-8 June 1966. This is the first general inspection of this unit since 1963. The overall evaluation of the unit was satisfactory, but there were several areas that were unsatisfactory and these areas are receiving priority attention and will be corrected just as soon as possible. The Air Police Section and personnel, the Communications Center and personnel were lost to the 4630th Support Squadron on 1 April 1966. However, both sections are still housed and supported by this squadron. The Air Police Section still comes under the supervision of the 641st. There were no departures during this period. S/Sgt.
