AN/FPS-93A – Two Channel Prime Radar, AN/FPS-90 Radar Height Finder, AN/GPX-7A Radar Identification, 16 Cummins Diesel Generators, 8 AN/GRC-27 Multi-Channel UHF Transmitter-Receivers, 6 AN/GRR-7 Single Channel UHF Transmitters, 3 MF/URG-60 VHF Receivers, 6 AN/GRR-7 Single Channel Receivers, 6 T-5002/FRT-502, Two 225 HP Steam Boilers.

Operations:

During this quarter Captain VW Woznack replaced Major LW Cadwallader as Operations Officer. Major Cadwallader departed on normal rotation to the CONUS. Authorized officer manning for this section during this reporting period remained at 13, however, during this same period this section had a loss of 7 officers. Officer manning presently remains at six. Authorized airman manning during this period remained at 85; NCO’s 33 and airmen, 52. Assigned manning at the end of this quarter was 17 NCO’s and 49 airmen, total 66. Gains for this period were 4 NCO’s and 10 airmen. This section participated in 5 live exercises and 7 STMs. During this quarter a revised, new ADCM 50-5 dated 15 Dec 66 was received changing training requirements for all 273X0 personnel. All personnel holding this AFSC are now required to be positional evaluated. Personnel satisfactorily passing the evaluation and testing will be upgraded to "Operational Ready" status. Those personnel not passing will remain in "Training" status. All personnel are required to receive a minimum of 80 academic hours a year. At the close of this quarter all training requirements have so far been met. Number of flight plans processed by this section during this quarter were 4,477. For this same period there were 9 unknowns, 0 AAD scrambles and 0 practice scrambles. Total Practice Intercepts were 295.

Communications and Electronics:

The CEM area had 12 enlisted men arrive and two depart during this time. Lt. Rivers arrived to replace Captain Carlstead. All sections are now manned at their authorized levels. Antenna couplers were received by the radio section. Allowing several1097 and 505 type antennas to be considered excess. They will be returned to AF stock as soon as a depot team can remove them from the poles. GEEIA scheme action was finalized on the AM-447 amplifier installation. Installation should be in July-August. The 37^th Air Division semi-annual Quality Control Inspection was conducted in January; all sections were rated satisfactory or better. Plans have been formulated and approved by 37^th Air Division to revamp the radar power and video cooling. A team of cable experts will be dispatched from CMC to supervise the removal and rehabilitation of the cable, cable troughs and cable records. This is expected to commence June or July 1967. Also approved is a request that the FPS-93A radar set have its IRAN this summer instead of next year as originally scheduled.

Civil Engineering:

The station Preventative Maintenance Team accomplished all routine PM work this quarter. The following self-help work was accomplished: New tile floor in Airman’s Club; new tile floor in Snack Bar; new rubber moulding in Operations hallway; and routine painting projects. The MMT worked on the following projects: MEL 111-66, Repair kitchen, 95% complete; MEL 103-66, steam and condensate system, 10% complete; MEL 129-66, repair equipment removal panels, 100% complete. Canadian Marconi Company inspected and repaired as required the control panels for all 10 power plant units. O&M projects status: MEL 3-7, construct water line, under design; MEL 3-8, paint various facilities, under design; MEL 4-8, maintain roadways and parking area, under design.

Station Support:

The discrepancies found on the Equipment Review and Utilization Survey conducted by Headquarters ADC were corrected. Excess property was turned into BEMO and requests for increased authorizations were submitted to BEMO. The Disaster Preparedness Equipment that was outstanding was checked, paper work re-accomplished, and hand carried to BEMO. The washers were placed on order and valid due outs now exists on these items. Unit Supply has turned in many of the reparable items that have been accumulating from the various accounts. At the present time the maintenance shops are in the process of inventorying their bench stocks and minimum levels to delete excess or parts no longer needed, and have items added that they feel are necessary. The remodelling of the Dining Hall ceiling and walls are near completion except for one small portion. This project is waiting on the materials before it can be completed.

Administration:

During this quarter M/Sgt. Jacob Fry reported for duty as First Sergeant. Routine Administrative and Squadron inspections have been made to ensure compliance with applicable directives. A great deal of planning and practice for Disaster Preparedness exercises has been accomplished including an evaluation by HQ 37^th Air Division. Retention programs, and Command Management programs also received increased emphasis during this period.

Security and Law Enforcement:

During the past quarter the Air Police section accomplished all assigned duties without major incident. Two Air Policemen arrived and were assigned duties as gate guard.

Medical:

Accomplished routine work load with no exceptional incident occurring this report period.
