Personnel Administration: Personnel records have been moved to Duluth ADC and operations began under ADCM 30-3 (Proposed). First word received that Group III "Pinetree Line" Squadrons will be turned over to the RCAF. Plans prepared by the USAF Control Coordinating Staff have been ratified by both the Canadian and United States governments. Squadron planning has begun to implement the change over procedures. Communications – Electronics: The FPS-6B was accepted on 17 May 1961 and a rigid radome was installed on the FPS-3C tower during June 1961. An on-site radar maintenance course was conducted for the FPS-6B maintenance personnel by a Philco Representative. Major David S Low, 38535A, assumed C&E Staff Officer duties. All office positions are now filled. Operations: Captain Gerald T Hamilton, 41057A, assumed duties as Operations Officer. Supply: A contest was initiated to advertise "Project Money Tree" and incentive awards were planned. An interim report was submitted to the 4062nd Support Wing, Ottawa, that indicated progress toward "Money Tree" goals. Security and Law Enforcement: The Security and Law Enforcement Officer attended a conference at HQ 30th Air Division on DECUFF and other defense plans. Local plans and capabilities were revised as a result of this conference. |
