47 RADAR SQUADRON, GYPSUMVILLE
PINE RIDGE, MAN

INFORMATION

  1. This organization order is being re-issued to adjust for changes resulting from the transition from Manual to Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) operations.

    2. INTENTION

  2. To restate the organization for 47 Radar Squadron (47 Radar Squadron).

    3. EXECUTION

    Effective Date

  3. This order shall be effective 1 Feb 64.

    4. Role

  4. The role of this unit shall be to:
  1. collect, discriminate and transmit to a designated SAGE centre radar data appearing within the area of coverage.

Command and Control

5.

  1. Designation of officer appointed to command 47 Radar Squadron – Commanding Officer.
  2. Control – AOC ADC except that operational control shall be exercised by the Commander 29th NORAD Region through the Commander Duluth NORAD Sector. When unit training activities, which are controlled by the AOC ADC, require the facilities of the NORAD System, they shall be coordinated by the Sector Commander.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Accounting

6. This unit shall be a self accounting unit.

  1. For the purposes of QR (Air), art 205.35, this Squadron shall not be a designated flying unit.
  2. Treasury Services shall be as shown in accounting circular 164.
