F/O Germain, Pers/Adm of the University of Montreal Primary Reserve, reported in for a period of special duty with the Regular Force. She assumed the duties of assistant Adjutant. Seven officers of 423 AW(F) Squadron, St. Hubert, arrived for a two day cross training visit. They were briefed on the operation of 11 AC&W Squadron and mutual problems were discussed.

The Officer’s Mess entertained the Sgts. Mess in an inter-mess competition. The Officers Mess won the trophy.

F/O H Daigle, Tech/Tel, of 2401 AC&W Squadron (Aux.), reported for a period of special duty with 11 AC&W Squadron. Twelve Fighter Controllers of 2401 AC&W Squadron (Aux.) reported for one week’s training with the Regular Force. The men’s and women’s Station Softball teams proceeded to RCAF Station Foymount, Ontario. Station Foymount won both games.

The Army Softball team from 25 COD Montreal visited the unit to play the station team. The Army team were the victors.

S/L JE Mahoney assumed command of 11 AC&W Squadron during the absence of W/C Mitchner. F/O JP Phelps, AS/FtrC of 2401 AC&W Squadron (Aux.), reported for a 15 day period of special duty with the regular force. F/O JH Gadbois, AS/FtrC, and F/O P Bauset, AS/FtrC of 2452 AC&W Squadron (Aux.) reported for 15 days of special duty with the regular force.

F/O HA Hudson, AS/FtrC, was admitted to Royal Alexandra Hospital, Montreal, having taken ill with poliomyelitis.

The Station Beach was officially opened with a gala beach party, upon completion of a large number of much needed improvements.

S/L JE Mahoney relinquished command of 11 AC&W Squadron on the return from leave of W/C JD Mitchner. S/L WW Kennedy reported to the station to assume duties as vice Sector Commander of 1 ADCC. F/O MCH Germain, Pers/Adm of 2401 AC&W Squadron (Aux.) departed upon completion of a period of special duty with the regular force.

F/L SC Strang, Pers/Adm, reported on transfer from 1(F) Wing HQ, Marville France, to assume duties as Station Adjutant.

F/O CV McCaffery, Pers/Adm, departed on transfer to 1(F) Wing HQ, Marville, France. She had completed a 20 month tour as Station Adjutant at Lac St. Denis. Lt. Col. VH Jekyll, Dental Officer, was admitted to Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, for medical treatment.

An enjoyable Station Dance was held in the Recreation Hall. A large number of personnel and guests were present.

S/L WR Tew, 1 ADCC, departed on posting to FTS Centralia, Ont. To resume flying duties. A Town Council to handle problems of PMQ residents was appointed. F/O Farvolden was appointed Mayor.

The Red Cross Mobile Clinic visited the unit to receive blood donations. A good turnout of personnel was received.

G/C Austin, W/C Edwards and S/L Hopkins of ADCHQ and Col. Hughes, Col. Halky and Lt. Col. Thompson, USAF (Colorado Springs) paid a liaison visit to the unit. They were briefed on the operation of the unit and conducted on a tour of the Operations Building.

Two flights of officers and airmen under the command of S/L JE Mahoney, participated in the Remembrance Day parade in Ste. Agathe des Months, Que. After the parade they were entertained by the Canadian Legion in the Legion Hall.

The Station Gift Shop was officially opened in the basement of the Recreation Centre by the CO. An excellent stock of goods was on display.

Gen. JC Jensen and Col. RH Jones USAF of the Central Co-ordinating Staff, Ottawa, visited the unit. They were briefed on the operation of the unit and given an extensive tour of the Operations Building and townsite. In the evening they were entertained at a reception in the Officer'’ Mess.

F/C RA Carson, UP/Pilot, reported on posting from 3FTS, Claresholm, Alta., to commence contact training in his trade.

A 1 Sector Conference on training problems took place at Station Lac St. Denis. Among those attending from other units were W/C HW Hillock of 425 AW(F) Squadron St. Hubert, W/C EC Ireland DFC, CD, of 3 OUT North Bay, S/L E Marnell CO of 12 AC&W Squadron Mont Apica and S/L RAB Elliss of 425 AW(F) Squadron St. Hubert.

F/O KB Hunter, Air/P, reported on transfer from RCAF Station Moisie, Que., to assume duties as a Fighter Controller. A muster parade of all ranks was held in the Recreation Hall. Personnel were briefed on the training exercise to take place in Dec and on new security procedures to be put into effect.
