Section II COMMENTARY |

SAGE integration compatibility testing by Western Electric was completed 26 February. This unit’s radar inputs and GATR operations are now fully integrated into the SAGE system at Sault Ste. Marie Air Defense Sector. The AN/FPS-26A FD Height Finder was accepted on 16 February. The unit’s closed circuit radio (AFRTS) outlet was deactivated on 1 March. The manual ground/air radio facility (1105) was decommissioned on 15 March. Radio and High Power Time Delay Data Link equipment is now controlled by the Direction Center. Turnover of the site to the RCAF is progressing smoothly and rapidly to the transfer date of 1 July 1963. The Officer Commanding the advanced party arrived 1 April and about 30 RCAF personnel are on site at present. Training on the AN/FPS-26A was completed by AVCO personnel on site. 32 personnel completed this course. |
