Saturday – Lovely summer day but strong wind. No dance in Rec. Hall this weekend. Liberty Run filled up. Many fishermen taking advantage of fine weather.

Wednesday – Bright sunny day. LAC and Mrs. Juett become proud parents of a baby boy in the Station Hospital.

Sunday – Protestant and RC Church services today. Rev. Keith Eddy, United Church, Kenogami, conducted the Protestant service in the morning. Bagotville men’s softball team here for an evening game and were badly beaten by Mont Apica.

Thursday – Cpl. and Mrs. Rievelay greeted a baby girl in the Station Hospital. Warm weather continues. F/L Strugor left today.

Tuesday – S/L Austin on the station for the day. F/L McMahon, RC Padre, reported in for Special Duty from St. Margarets. Extremely fierce thunderstorm during night.

Wednesday – Townsite quiet after busy nights activity. Extremely humid with rain off and on.

Thursday – Dull and cold. School finished today for the summer. Teachers preparing to leave the station by the weekend.

Friday – CO’s Inspection in the morning, also CO’s Parade. Dull and rainy all day and night. Cpl’s. Club Supper Dance in the evening a complete success.

Saturday – Track and Field Day on the station. Wonderful weather all day. LAC Berry was easily the star of the day. Cpl’s. Club won the trophy with a total of 139 points, with the Airmen placing a close second with 108 points. Dance in the Rec. Hall not too well attended.

Sunday – RC Church services during the day. Earlier part of the day very warm with many in the pool. Late afternoon rain and thunder showers finished outdoor recreation. F/O Stewart, new PAdO, in today.

Monday – Dully muggy day, threatening rain. F/O Stewart, new PAdO, at work this morning. F/L McMahon left today. Also, F/L Stewart the new SAO arrived.

Tuesday – CO’s Conference in the morning. Rain most of the day and evening. Salk vaccine injections given the dependents on station.

Wednesday – Dark and very warm. Preparations well under was to provide accommodation for Reserves for summer camp.

Thursday – Final preparations for A/C Reyno’s visit being made today.

Friday – A/C Reyno and party arrived at noon and after luncheon made several inspections of the station. Cocktails were served in the Senior NCO’s Mess with a Dining-In Night in the Officers Mess in the evening. F/O Walker leaving for new position at ADC today.

Saturday – Rainy off and on all day. Dance in the Rec. Hall in the evening – not too well attended. Liberty Run very full to Quebec.

Sunday – RC Church services today. Weather dull and rainy. LAC and Mrs. Moore welcomed a daughter in the station hospital.

Monday – Dominion Day. Steady rain most of the day dampened even the most enthusiastic fisherman’s spirit. Station quiet. F/L Pus away for a weeks leave.

Tuesday – F/C Fenton reported for work this morning to assist the CAdO. F/O Temple at work in the Admin Section after receiving her transfer to Admin from the Fighter Controller Branch.

Wednesday – Many preparations still being made for arrival of Auxiliary personnel with extra beds being set up.

Thursday – Lovely warm weather. Many off-duty personnel taking advantage of fishing. Station quiet.

Friday – CO’s Inspection in the morning. Auxiliary personnel arrived on the station late in the evening.

Saturday – Dull and rainy to regular downpour for hours in the evening. Dance in the Rec. Hall not too well attended.

Sunday – RC Church services today. Station softball team away to Bagotville for day, losing to Bagotville 10 – 5.

Monday – Bright, extremely warm day. Admin section temporary quarters extremely uncomfortable. Children’s summer school with Mrs. Miller in charge and with volunteers from among the mothers of the unit, began this morning. Heavy rain during the night.

Tuesday – Dull rainy day. F/L Bates and party were here from Command. Heavy thunderstorms all evening.

Wednesday – Dull and rainy. CO out with Search and Rescue on Black Fly Campaign.

Thursday – Dull and rainy all day. New front steps are appearing on many PMQs where weather has worn the cement away. F/O Conroy (RM) here from ADCHQ.

Friday – Heavy rain and quite cold. CO’s Inspection in the morning. Ball game planned with the Auxiliary for this evening rained out. F/O Conroy left today.

Monday – Dull and rainy. CO’s Conference held this morning. F/L McMahon, RC Padre, here for the day from Bagotville. Officers Promotion Board held this afternoon in CO’s office. F/C Kelly reported in for two months from London.

Tuesday – Cloudy day with some sunny patches. CO at the tower most of the day regarding exercise. F/L Harris reported back from Cold Lake. S/L Dewan, the new COpsO, arrived on the unit today.

Wednesday – CO away today. Bright sunny day for a change. Summer School children getting into the pool for a change. F/O Beesley and F/L Rutherford (the new SMO) reported in today. The Airwomen held a party in the Lounge to welcome the new PAdO.

Thursday – Beautiful warm day. Pool a very popular place. Softball game in the evening well attended. Orderly Room busy with many leaving on posting.

Friday – CO’s Inspection in the morning. CAdO away to Chicoutimi on station business in the afternoon.

Saturday – Lovely summer day. Pool a very popular spot. Station softball team away for Molson’s Trophy Tournament and were defeated 2 – 1. Station dance in the Rec. Hall not too well attended.

Sunday – RC Church service held today. Bright sunny day turning cool in the late afternoon with rain most of the night.

Monday – CO away on one weeks annual leave. Dull rainy day. Orderly Room is extremely hot and uncomfortable. Painting and maintenance work being carried on in PMQs on the station.

Tuesday – Cold and dark. No CO’s Conference as W/C Snider away on one weeks annual leave. Inspector arrived to approve new Admin Building today.

Wednesday – Still dull and cool. Rain in the late afternoon. Word received that we can move into the new Admin Building this weekend.

Thursday – Bright summer day. F/O Tracy (Welfare Officer) here from Command. Some packing going on in preparation for move to new building.

Friday – CO’s Parade in the morning. Moving day for the Admin Section to new Headquarters Building.

Saturday – Bright summer day. Many to town on shopping tours. Cpls. beat Airmen in exhibition ball game. Dance in the evening fairly well attended.

Sunday – RC and Protestant Church services this morning. This was F/L Thompson’s (Protestant Padre) last Sunday serving this unit as he has been transferred to Rockcliffe.

Monday – Rain and thunder storms began in the early morning. Fire alarm sounded during the night caused by a short in the wiring. Electrician still working on it during the day. CO back after a weeks annual leave. F/C Stone reported in today.

Tuesday – Bright sunny day. CO’s Conference this morning. All Admin Section enjoying the space and facilities of the new Admin Building. Foxes again made havoc of the garbage cans in the PMQ area.

Wednesday – Dull dark day. CO at tower part of the day. Pay Parade made many smiling personnel with raise in pay in effect.

Thursday – Dull wet day. F/L Thompson (Protestant Padre) reported on the unit today. S/L Nevin arrived on the unit today. Also Capt. RW Anderson from ADCHQ.

Saturday – Bright and warm. Sgt. and Mrs. Slater welcomed a son in the station hospital.

Sunday – RC Church services today. Violent rain and thunder storms. Cubs brought back a day early because of violent storms.

Saturday – Station Picnic supposed to have been held in the clearing across the river – held in the Rec. Hall because of rain. A very successful day with all ages from the "Diaper Derby" up taking part.

Monday – Labour Day – bright weather for a change. Swimming meet held today, with Airmen’s Mess the victors. Dance in the Rec. Hall in the evening. F/O KJ Brind arrived from Beaverbank.

Wednesday – Rain off and on all day. Road in front of station being worked on and very muddy and soft.

Thursday – Dark and rainy all day. CO and CAdO away to Quebec City for the day. Major F Leger, AJAG, Quebec City, here for the day. Construction work on road made it necessary to halt the buses at the CE Section at 1700 hours and tower personnel had to walk the rest of the way to the townsite.

Saturday – Saguenay – LAC St. Jean Cub Rally held at Mont Apica today, with Mont Apica’s first Laurentide Pack winning the day with 28 points. Dance in the Rec. Hall in the evening not too well attended. First Liberty Run in several weeks went to Quebec City.

Sunday – RC Church services today. Bitterly cold in the afternoon with showers most of the evening.

Thursday – Snow in the early morning but followed by bright sunshine. Admin Party held in the evening for staff members leaving this month. F/O Dockendorff cleared from the station today. Fine weather turned into several snow squalls late in the day.

Friday – CO’s Inspection this morning. The sod for the new Admin Building being laid in the middle of a heavy snowstorm. Cpl. and Mrs. Lofgren became proud parents of a baby girl. Airmen/Airwomen Dining-In Night held tonight.

Saturday – Sunny all day, but cold and blowing. Sgt. Murphy’s Orchestra at Dance in the Rec. Hall. A tragic automobile accident took the lives of two station personnel in the early hours of Sunday morning. Dead are LAW Beale and Cpl. "Whitey" Gettis. LAC Hunt, driver of the car, was seriously injured.

Monday – Bright warm day. Many details for the shipping of the remains of the Airwoman and the Corporal who lost their lives over the weekend. Cpl. Gettis was sent home tonight with a bus going in with personnel to pay their last respects.

Monday – Word received early this morning that a serious accident about 10 miles from the station, took the life of Mr. Bosse of Des Laurier Construction Company and two other civilians. Mr. Couture, driver of the car, was seriously injured. At about 6:30 pm another car was involved in an accident just beyond the camp – resulted in the death of a passenger in the car. The CO left this afternoon for St. Hubert.

Wednesday – Steady rain all day. CO and S/L Dewan back after trip to St. Hubert. Flu epidemic slowing down. First Bingo of the season held in the Rec. Hall.

Thursday – Dull wet day again. F/L Horton, Protestant Padre, arrived on the unit for the weekend. Several Senior NCO’s left for Quebec City for the day to attend Mr. Bosse’s funeral (accident victim of Monday morning).

Friday – CO’s Inspection in the morning. Cold day with snow and freezing rain. Airmen had a very successful Social Evening in their Mess.

Sunday – Protestant and RC Church services today. Protestant Sunday School held in the afternoon. Movie "Anastasia" shown in station theatre had difficulties because of machine trouble but was shown anyway with many stops to change reels. Cpl. Paquette and his wife welcomed their eight child, a girl, in the station hospital.

Saturday – Mogul (413) Squadron departed for Cold Lake and went direct to Scooter as Scabbard was released for emergency maintenance at 1307Z to replace the EW Kit. The CPS-6B was operational at 2212Z.

Sunday – The EW Kit was serviceable at 0740Z. At 2034Z, VL9N was made unknown – strength 1 – speed 180 – EC 3020. Tactical action was taken by VN. Flight Cadet Turcotte, AS/FtrC, was taken on strength from the Primary Reserve.

Monday – At 1603Z VL went on emergency maintenance (drive) and became operational at 1625Z. At 1727Z a Mayday call was heard from Hamlet 19 – Scabbard answered and were advised that Hamlet 19 had contact with Ottawa tower. He had a flameout in the OW area. W/C Snider and F/L Montrose departed for ADCHQ to attend Chancelight briefing.

A total of 10 aircraft were scrambled on CAP before the return to normal state at 1730Z. At 2340Z Rhino 16 called in for pigeons – he had a single engine failure – Rhino 16 landed safely.

F/O FB McAndrews was taken on strength on arrival from St. Sylvestre.

Sunday – At 2135Z Largo advised that a DC-4 aircraft was missing between Montreal and Quebec and that Search & Rescue aircraft would be in that area. At 2330Z the craft was reported sighted by Largo 1 – 15 miles SE of Quebec – disintegrated.

Thursday – Rhino November and Rhino Oscar and Mogul Mike (each strength 2) scrambled at 0116Z against Fakers. Mogul November had 2 MA’s. Mogul Mike 1 MA and Rhino Oscar – 2 MI’s. Exercise "Birchtree" took place and Mogul Bravo had 2 MI’s while Mogul Charlie had 2 MA’s.

Saturday – RCA helicopter landed at station at 1715Z. Took off at 2100Z.

Monday – F/O Sauve due from Cold Lake but enters hospital.

Wednesday – At 2208Z, TT24 was believed to be missing but he landed at Uplands, having failed to cancel his flight plan.

Friday – An MCL penetration reported at 1920Z – 2 CF brought to 5 minutes and later released.

Saturday – At 1826Z a complete power failure occurred. At 1837Z power restored.

Sunday – At 1546Z, Rhino 26 returned to base – smoke in cockpit – landed safely GCI-GCA at 1513Z.
