Work commenced on RIP project in the Ops building.
Air Vice Marshal WR MacBrien, AOC of ADC visits the unit. A water skiing display was put on in his honor, and a fireworks display at night.

Canadian General Electric carried out an annual overhaul on the AN/FPS-6 height finder.

Removal of TPS-501 installation was started. Completed (including cables) by 15 Jun 59.

S/L JWR Arsenault, Roman Catholic Padre visits the unit.

Operations - During the month of Jun there were 396 practice intercepts and 44 operational intercepts. The total missed intercepts was 89. There were 2,689 tracks plotted and 25 unknown tracks. Exercises for the month included 2 Chainshot, 13 STM, 2 Boneyard, 1 Holly, 3 Big Blast, 1 Coldwind, 1 Reflex Action and 1 Cue Ball. The influx of aircrew into the Controller trade has been most noticed at this unit. A buildup of personnel strength on all Crews has been progressing steadily. F/L Vincer attended the Rocket Meet at Station Cold Lake as Controller for 416 Squadron.

The 50 foot inflated Radome was removed from the Main Building.
Construction work commenced on new Combined Chapels.
The male and female Station Softball Teams visited Station Senneterre. The girls won the women’s trophy but the men were defeated in their attempt to take the Kent Trophy.

Operations - There were 2,290 tracks and 9 unknown tracks plotted this month. 176 practice intercepts, 38 operational intercepts and 52 missed intercepts. Exercises included 9 STM, 2 Chainshot, 1 Coldwind, 1 Big Blast and 2 Strawboss.

Recreation - 10 contestants entered the 2 RA Track and Field Meet at St. Johns.
Operations - There were 2,822 tracks and 23 unknown tracks plotted this month, 425 practice intercepts, 51 operational intercepts and 149 missed intercepts. The exercises included 9 STM, 2 Boneyard, 3 Chainshot, 2 Strawboss, 1 Coldwind and 1 Cueball.

Mr. O’Donnell and Mr. Mathieu from St. Hubert arrive for a civilian inspection and Staff visit.
Dental Health program commenced.
In the ADC "Wire Track and Field Meet" this unit came first in both men’s and women’s divisions.

Operations - There were 3,678 tracks and 13 unknown tracks plotted. 422 practice intercepts, 82 operations intercepts and 133 missed intercepts. The monthly exercises included 9 STM, 3 Big Blast, 1 Cue Ball and 2 Strawboss.

F/L EP Phillips, SOPA, visited the Station Headquarters.
On this date the Station had one year of accident free driving with a total of 200,887 miles.

Operations - There were 1,606 tracks and 1 unknown track plotted, 319 practice intercepts, 7 operational intercepts and 37 missed intercepts. Exercises for the month included 3 Big Blast, 1 Coldwind, 1 Cueball and 5 STM. The present Controller strength is 27 day staff comprised of S/L Thibault, COpsO, F/L Cline, Assistant COpsO, F/L Vincer, Control Standards, F/O English, Surveillance Standards, F/O MacKay, Training Standards, F/L Gillion, Ground Training and F/O Coll, STP.
