Repairs to decking and guard rails on the bridge on the access road have been carried out. The work has been completed on the guardhouse facilities in the Operations area.

Exercise Cree Feather I has gone into effect. F/L Archibald and F/L Scott of AFHQ/DMAN ENG have visited this unit for FD Radar familiarization and preliminary study connected with the D Man Eng work study to be carried out at a later date.

During the month of January, tractor H33-1495 up for disposal was bought by Iroquois Sales and Service. As of the 15 Jan 64, total amount of LPO expenditures is $12,179.62. All 211X spares have been posted to stock cards and items binned. The total number of QA’a for the month of January totalled 23.

Officers from AFHQ DOE/CTel as listed hereunder visited the unit to study the organization and requirements of an FD Radar: W/C Purdhomme, W/C Williams, S/L Fiander, S/L Proctor and F/L Prydon.

During the month of February, 11 QA’s were received; 2512 Line Items actioned in the Supply Section and stock-taking completed in Clothing Stores. CE Projects included renovation to MSE Section, revision of washroom facilities in SAGE Building and installation of exit lights in all barracks.

Exercise Cree Feather III, a live exercise initiated. S/L Mould ADC/SORA (P) visited the unit in connection with religious administration.

At 1400 hours local time, the AN/FPS-27, Search Radar, became operational. At the same time, the AN/FPS-3 was shut down but retained on a 24 hour call basis.

Exercise Naskapi Jewell III, a live exercise, was conducted. S/L Ultican and party from AMCHQ arrived on a familiarization visit in connection with the GATR Site.

The second channel of AN/FST-2 underwent drum modifications to make it compatible with the AN/FPS-27. At the same time, the AN/FPS-3 was permanently removed from service.

The normal routine of preventive maintenance has been carried out during the month. Work has continued in the MSE Section and the exit light installations.

S/L Hoffert and party from ADC arrived and conducted an evaluation test, the primary purpose of which was to verify ADC’s evaluation procedures.

Exercise Mute IX, a live exercise was conducted during the period 21-25 Apr. Personnel were divided into two shifts, working 12 hours each for the duration of the exercise. J22 Ambulance allotted to Station Ramore. On receipt, Vehicle will be converted to an A21 truck for use in place of A-17 Vehicle.

Renovations to Station Headquarters being commenced. MSE renovations are continuing. Routine preventive maintenance have been carried out throughout the month.

Exercise Top Rung IV, a live exercise, goes into effect.

Unit visit by DM Auditors. Electronic Warfare course proposed for this date, has been delayed for future date. C/M/Sgt. Hecker, USAF, arrived to do a preliminary study on the removal of the FPS-3, the relocation of the FPS-6 and the installation of the OA2325 Mod to the FPS-6. Unit participated in evaluation of the Northern NORAD Region.

Works projects continuing in renovation of the Headquarters Building and MSEO office. New counter is being built in sub-stores for better security and easier handling of supplies. A truck, ambulance, received and converted to truck, van, in accordance with QTO 5654 and Log 9820. Truck is used for trip to GATR Site. Half-ton 1961 Dodge cargo truck is shipped to Senneterre. Western Flyer bus US. Civilian bus hired until repairs carried out. 24 QA messages for the month of May. 21 completed.

A Station Wagon A-11, formerly held for disposal, sold to dealer. QTO completed. Tractor Trailer H-21 allotted from Station Ramore to Station Bagotville. Tractor Trailer H-21 allotted from Station Armstrong to Station Ramore. State truck B-35 allotted from Station Beaverbank to Station Ramore. 220 incoming shipments received during the month, with 36 shipments being dispatched. 1101 items were processed during the month of June.

During this month, the Ground Training Officer and F/L Ayers from Command visited the unit. Casual stock checks being processed for electronics store. The amount of LPO’s for the month of July was $42.87. Petty Cash was $673.91.

During the month of August, normal routine was carried out, the only item of significance being that the party of the United States Air Force arrived to dismantle the FPS-3 Tower.

During the month of September, Commanding Officers of other units spent a three-day visit here. Change-over of CAP 653 to new checking list commenced.

A Vulnerability Test, consisting of infiltration and radiation fall-out, was carried out by the Command Test Team. Station Wagon 166A11-1091 received from Station Downsview. Tractor H21-1460 shipped to Station Bagotville. Tractor H21-1913 received from Station Armstrong.

During the month of October, $512 Petty Cash purchases were made while LPs amounted to $2,074. Shipments of FPS equipment was being prepared for transportation to the USA.

United States equipment out by Maislin Brothers and Star Transfer. Supplementary logistic data amendments received and all catalogues amended. Station Wagon A10-1936 reported to APDAL. Station Wagon A-11 received from Uplands. During this month, the RX and TX Sites equipment weighting 4,904 lbs. were shipped out.
