Major Alvin Israel was the Commander during the period of this report.

Colonel Lewis W Stocking, Commander, Grand Forks Air Defense Sector, Grand Forks, North Dakota, performed a familiarization visit to the unit 25 October 1960.

Colonel Salvatore J Veneziano, Commander, 4602^nd Support Wing, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and a staff of 13 personnel performed a familiarization and support staff visit 16-18 November 1960. The staff visit covered all areas of logistical support with an overall evaluation of excellent.

A Personnel and Training staff visit was performed by the Grand Forks Air Defense Sector, with minor errors found and corrected. Overall evaluation was excellent.

During this reporting period, this section operated on a normal status with no significant change.

This section participated in four actual exercises and several simulated missions requiring battle staff manning. All were handled successfully.

There were 364 actual intercepts accomplished with a high degree of success.

During this period this section was approximately 90% manned.

During this period there was no change in manpower, equipment or administration.

There were inspections by the 4602^nd staff and Grand Forks Division Surgeons office. No suggestions for improvement by either group.

A Dental team visited this unit the month of December.

Medical supplies are now being received through the Medical Depot at Camp Shilo, Manitoba.

An addition has been added to the Power House to accommodate an additional 150 horsepower boiler. The boiler is expected to be operational about 16 January 1961. The balance of construction on the addition should be completed by 15 February 1961.

The new Multi-Purpose Recreation building is about 80% complete. It should be ready for occupancy by 15 March 1961.

During the past three months, the Food Service section has purchased $11,164.03 worth of food, serving 21,317 meals or 7,108 rations.

The foods are ordered from the depot in Winnipeg and shipped from the RCASC Supply Depot. The rations are transported by the base motor pool once a week.

There has been three medical inspections from higher headquarters during this reporting period. The results were rated excellent.

Construction of the Vehicle Storage building is approximately 90% complete. Beneficial occupancy date is 6 January 1961. The building has nine stalls and will be capable of providing inside storage for all assigned buildings.

During this period, the Radar Maintenance section held two, five week, OJT classes on the programmed FPS-6B equipment. Each class consisted of four airmen and a civilian (CAE) instructor.

The cables in the Radar Maintenance shop were tailored in preparation for installation of 0A-320 control consoles. The FPS-3 receiver control, 0A-175 scope, and GPA-30 were relocated to make room for the 0A-320/FPS-6B.

The FPS-3 search radar received a complete depot overhaul by the Canadian Aviation Electronics team.

Installation of the Base PA system was started. The cable drop wire was installed. Speakers and terminals will be installed later.

The radio section installed two single channel UHF radio sets (GRT-3 and GRR-7). Installation of four AS/505B/GR antennas was completed in December 1960.
