These photos were taken at a dinner billed as a Canadian American Relations night. It was hosted by the 30th Air Defense Command Headquarters at Selfridge AFB of which the 912 AC&W Squadron at Ramore was a part. Those invoted wrere the Commanders and Staff Officers of the 30th Air Division AC&W Squadrons on the Pinetree Line along with top RCAF and Canadian Army officers in the area. It was quite a night.
I was BOQ officer so I had a large part in seeing that it came off all right. In addition, I was rotating back to the States the next day. All I can remember was there was to be only two toasts proposed during the dinner" one, to the Queen, and the other to the President (then Dwight D Eisenhower). After an extended "cocktail hour", we convened for dinner. The toasts were made and then the liquor began to take effect. Before all was over, 33 toasts had been presented, I think for everyone there including to my departure the next day.
