Fred Boutin on the deck of the Sultana - August 1962.
The Sultana was a cobbed up surplus vessel that was acquired priot to my arrival at Saglek. I don't even think it was on the books. It was nice for the guys to go out fishing but it had a big draw back. It drew brass from Goose Bay like flies. Every time we had a visiting dignitary we would get an inspection along with the scrubbing, painting, and cleaning to go along with it. They seemed to leave the other sites alone so we figured out it was the Sultana and Arctic Char that got us so much attention.
