- Canada Day (Centennial Day) celebrations - 1 July 1971.
The children typically would decorate their bicycles for a parade that started at the CE Section and ended at the Ball Park. Prizes that were awarded included "closest to the original" and "best costume". The two boys dressed as aboriginals are Donny Bradly and Scott Kile.
