As of the end of September 2004, the entire PMQ area had been bulldozed over. The restaurant, gym and theater appear to be next to go. I was able to drive all the way up to the station (the gate was open) and I saw a couple of excavators up there, which can't be good. The domestic site is scheduled to be a trailer park, but apparently the operations site is on land that someone else owns. I assume that for safety reasons they will dismantle it because where there are trailer parks there are kids, and we all know what can happen when there are kids around buildings which have been abandoned.
Special thanks to Rick Grandy and George Peverill who spent a considerable amount of time taking photos of the remains at RCAF Station Beaverbank. We suggest that you look very carefully at these photos as the domestic site and the operations site at Beaverbank are scheduled to be razed to the ground in October 2004. By the end of October, none of the original buildings which formed the radar station between 1954 and 1964 will remain. It took a full 40 years to demolish a location that will live on in our memories.
