Weather - Overcast with high winds and rain. The film, "Between Two Worlds" was shown in the evening and was much enjoyed by all who attended.

Weather - Clear and mild. Unit truck now making regular runs to Tignish for mail, rations, etc. LAC Duggan HE, released from Unit hospital 30 March, proceeded to No 1 R & NS, Summerside, for medical checkup.

Weather - Overcast, windy. Some snow fell during the early hours of the day, the snow fall, however, was light. Sky cleared in the evening. Pay parade was held in the Recreation Hall at 1500 hours. Officiating paymaster was F/L Eddy of No 1 R & NS, Summerside.

Weather - Clear and mild. Radar equipment working satisfactorily. A bridge tournament was held in the Recreation Hall in the evening and was much enjoyed by airmen who took part.

Weather - Overcast, with rain and high winds. Painting of canteen commenced this date. An effort will be made to make the canteen a very comfortable lounge and the painting of same is the beginning. Cpl. Berry, WJ fitter diesel left the Unit for his new station at Louisburg, NS. Painting of Canteen began by personnel off duty.

Weather - Partly cloudy, cold with strong NW winds. Operations of Radar aerial difficult due to high winds, however reception fair. LAC Duggan, HE, Orderly Room clerk, who has been in Summerside for the past few days for Xrays etc. following pneumonia, has been sent to the RCAF Convalescent Home at St Andrews, NB.

Weather - Clear and mild. Panel truck now running, as well as four by four. Plans are being made for a camp clean-up, which will begin as soon as all the snow has disappeared.

Weather - Partly cloudy and mild. RC Church run to Tignish at 7:45 hours. No Protestant run today. Radar equipment operating satisfactorily.

Weather - Partly cloudy and mild. Painting of canteen proceeding satisfactorily.

Weather - Clear and very mild. Most of the snow has disappeared from around the camp. F/L Edgerton, Cpl Cameron and LAC Irving proceeded to No 1 R & NS by MT for equipment and administration returning the same day. The film "The Falcon Out West" was shown in the evening.

Weather - Clear and mild with fresh winds. Painting of canteen almost completed. Battle ship linoleum has been purchased out of NPF for canteen floor, and was laid in the evening.

Weather - Clear and warm. Cpl cameron, MMMT, overhauling MT vehicles. No outstanding tracks in operations. Maximum range was 115 miles and longest track 132 miles. These aircraft were identified as U/S RH equipment working satisfactorily.

The weather was cool during the day and sky remained overcast with rain threatening during the latter half of the day. Reception was off during the daylight hours with a maximum range of 95 miles attained during early morning hours. Activity while fair was regular throughout the day. LAC Duggan H was promoted to A/CPL (P) and T/CPL Bateman, M was promoted to A/SGT (P) effective today. LAC O'Brien - Diesel Fitter was posted to this unit from Summerside. The Sunday Church parade run for R.C. personnel was carried out at 0730 hrs. to Tignish. The evening run at 1845 hrs. for Protestant personnel was also made this Sunday. The 1800 hrs. duty watch was taken care of by the personnel detailed for duty on this date. A team consisting of LAC's McCabe, Lloyd, Saulnier and McCourt went down to Charlottetown today to take part in a Horseshoe Pitching contest at the RCAF Station there.

The weather today was very warm and it was a real sample of what summer weather we have been awaiting for some time. Reception during the day was not as good as average until the latter part of the day when conditions showed somewhat of an improvement; maximum range for the day was 110 miles. Activity was restricted to American a/c from Newfoundland bases with a few Canadian a/c from Canadian bases. Some of the personnel on the station who were able to take advantage of the holiday and were down to the beach for the first mass swimming party of the year. The usual daily chores were taken care of at 1800 hrs. by the personnnel on the station assigned for this day's duties.

Weather today was quite summer-like and warm with good flying weather prevailing throughout the day. Reception during the day was on the average below the general results we usually have while traffic was in no great volume during the entire day. Maximum range for the day was 108 miles. A duty run was made to Summerside by F/S Dumais and LAC Irving, Equipment Assistant. Sgt. MacKenzie was down to Summerside to attend the Dental Clinic at #1 R & NS. Landline between Tignish and Charlottetown was U/S between 0015 and 0035 hrs also from 0240 to 0814 hrs due to a broken line pole. A soft ball game was played between the Junior and Seniors again today which resulted in a tie game. The regular duty watch was held as usual at 1800 hrs.

The weather continues to be clear and warm with little or no wind. Ceiling during the day was unlimited. Activity was very heavy during the day with many bomber returning from overseas. F/S Dumais was down to #1 R & NS by panel truck with Cpl St Pierre and LAC's Cunningham and McCabe on Canteen matters. A picture show was presented in the Recreation Hall in the evening, the title of it being "Lady's Bodyguard" and a good attendance was had. A soft ball game was played on our station ball diamond against the Alberton team and the result was an overwhelming victory for #24 RU the score being 19 - 2. The regular station duty-watch took care of the necessary chores for the day.

Weather during the day was clear and fine. A signal was received here during the morning advising us to cease operations at 2359Z. Plans were made for skeleton staff to take over unitl such times as definite plans were made. A duty run was made to Summerside for canteen goods by LAC Irving. The regular 1800 hrs. duty watch was carried out.

Weather during the day was overcast with heavy showers during the afternoon. The usual Sunday Church run for RC personnel was made to Tignish, PEI. A movie show was shown in the Rec. Hall, entitled "The Keys of the Kingdom". The usual 1800 hrs. duty watch was carried out by personnel on duty for the day.

Weather today was fair and warm. This being a holiday, all personnel who could take advantage of it were given time off. A soft ball game was played with Alberton by the #24 RU soft ball team and a dance was held in Alberton in the evening for those taking part in the sport. The regular duty watch was held at 1800 hrs. according to plans.

Weather today remained fair and clear. Preparations were made for a dance which was held on the station and approxiumately 25 guests were invited. After an evening of dancing a lunch was served and all personnel on the station seemed to have an enjoyable time of it. A signal was received advising us to shut down the CI beacon.
5 Sep 45
Weather continues fair and clear. A duty run was made to Summerside today by the panel truck with LAC Clarke driving and LAC McLeod Allardyce was down to Summerside for medical. AC1 Taylor left today on Farm Leave. A soft ball game was played with a picked up team from Tignish. A clothing parade in Summerside was attended by 8 of the personnel from this unit. A truck arrived from #1 R & NS for the WT Tower. The regular station weekly duty watch was carried out be all station personnel. Rec Hall, Canteen, NCO's Quarters and Administration Bldg were cleaned up. Airmen's Barracks was cleaned and washed and all garbage disposed of.

Weather remains clear and warm with a slight breeze blowing. A start was made in the packing of small effects at operations and most of the operators were engaged in making cases. The regular 1800 hrs duty watch was carried out to take care of all necessary chores. The regular Thursday night dance run was made to Alberton for station personnel.

Weather today was very warm and the humidity was very high. An early morning thunderstorm took place. The Senior Administrative Officer from #1 R & NS paid an official visit to this station today in regards to pre-closing preparations. We were very fortunate today in the way of movies as we had a double feature. The regular 1800 hrs. duty watch was carried out. A duty run was made to #1 R & NS for LAC Lloyd, LAC Irving and F/L Edgerton; in regards to extra messing and accounting.

Weather during the morning hours was clear and warm but during the afternoon it closed in and we had a slight shower. Further progress was made in preparation for packing and in order to obtain necessary lumber a start was made on dismantling the rink. A weiner roast was held at the beach in the evening by some of the personnel and their invited guests. The daily 1800 hrs. duty watch was carried out.
9 Sep 45
Weather during the morning was cloudy which cleared off during the latter part of the day. A church run was made for RC personnel to Tignish. During the afternoon a softball game was played in Tignish with the Lieutenant-Governor of the province pitching the first ball of the game. The result was a 26 - 10 win for the #24 RU team. The daily 1800 hrs duty watch was carried out as usual.
10 Sep 45
Weather during th day was overcast and rain threatened during parts of the day. A clothing parade was held today for #24 RU personnel at #1 R & NS F/L Edgerton and F/L Wineberg made a duty run to #1 R & NS on Administration business. Packing of materials continue in full swing on the station. The regular 1800 hrs duty watch was carried out. LAC's Colson and Hobson were SOS on posting to Discharge Release Centre (#2).
11 Sep 45 Weather during the day was clear and warm. The most of the personnel were engaged in packing and replacing broken windows. A duty run was made to #1 R & NS, Summerside by LAC's Irving and McLeod. A very interesting show was presented in the evening in the Rec. Hall entitled "Gaslight". The regular 1800 hrs. duty watch was carried out by station personnel. Sgt Gillis and Cpl Matthews were given discharge leave starting today prior to reporting at Release Centre for Discharge. 12 Sep 45 Weather during the early morning hours was overcast and somewhat cloudy; later in the day it turned out fine and clear. Work continued on dismantling rik and preparing windows for placing on buildings. The regular station weekly duty watch was carried out with waxing the Rec. Hall and Admin. Bldg. floors and scrubbing NCO's Washroom, Airmen's Barracks and Canteen floors; also all garbage was disposed of. A softball game was played in Alberton by the team from #24 RU and the unit team won out be a score of 4 - 2. Coal continued to be delivered to this unit even though operations has ceased. LAC Lloyd left this unit today having been posted to #4 Release Centre (Staff). 13 Sep 45 Weather was fine and clear. Packing continued. Usual duty watch was carried out at 1800 hrs. by assigned personnel. Dance run to Alberton was at 2130 hrs. A ball game was held at Tignish at 1800 hrs. in which this unit won by a score of 26 - 4. Sgt. Bateman proceeded on leave prior to posting to Torbay. LAC Duval and LAC Monette left on posting to Moncton. 14 Sep 45 Weather fine and clear but much cooler. Station duty watch was carried out 1800 hrs. by assigned personnel. A softball game was played here with Alberton and after five innings darkness stopped the play, the score being 8 - 8. On authority of EAC Signal O.233 d/20-Sep-45, this is the last entry for Daily Diary. HEALTH OF THIS UNIT was very good with no hospitalizations. (A Wineberg) F/L,
