Lighthouse at

This light station was initially established in 1884. It was active in 1962 with the following specifications: focal plane 177 feet; white flash every 15 seconds; located in a 50 foot octagonal pyramidal concrete tower: Fresnel lens of unknown order. Lighthouse painted white, lantern red. Fog horn (blast every 30 seconds). Two-story hipped-roof frame keeper's quarters (1922) and 1-1/2 story frame keeper's quarters (1961). The two buildings are now used as an inn (transportation to the site provided). Located at the northern tip of Quirpon Island, marking the northernmost point of Newfoundland. Accessible only by boat or helicopter (helipad provided). Site manager: Quirpon Lighthouse Inn.
