    You can just see the big radar antenna sticking out on both sides of the light tower. This is an unusual photo to find as you were not supposed to photograph the thing.

  27. Cape St. James, the northern half - January 1944.
    Cape St. James is on an island. The island itself consists of two hills separated by this valley. On the other side of this hill is a rough channel separating the cape from Kunghit Island. The waves crash on these jagged rocks throwing spray and foamy suds over the recreation hall, administration building, hospital and mess hall.

  28. The southern tip of the Charlottes - January 1944.
    The operations building, according to RCAF plans was to be built on the far island, connected by a suspension bridge. Upon investigation these plans were soon discouraged owing to building difficulties, high seas and winds. This picture was taken “up top” at the operations building, 375 feet above sea level and looking straight south.
