NPF Institutes – The gross station fund sales for the year ending 31 Dec 57 was $1,608,000.000.

The retail outlets which contributed to this revenue included the following: Station Store (PX), Grocery and butcher store, Snack Bar, Airmen’s Canteen, Cpls. Club, Theatre, Gasoline coupons, Auto Club, Dental Clinic, Bowling Alleys, Barber and Beauty Parlour and the Hobby Shop.

There were 430 PMQ’s and 146 House trailers at 2 (F) Wing.

Exercise Argus was held simultaneously with Exercise Synthex Guest. 2 (F) Wing provided 8 F-86’s and 8 CF-100 aircraft as agressor forces. This was double 1 Air Divisions commitment as the FAF were unable to meet their normal requirement due to technical difficulties. The reason for holding both exercises on the same day was to give saturation to 2 ATAF and 4 ATAF Air Defence systems.

A critique on Exercise "Terrier Trek" was held at 2 (F) Wing Grostenquin on Tuesday 16^th July 1957. The RCAF was represented by Air Commodore Clements and the French Forces by General Ferrebeeuf with their respective staffs.

Four F-86 standby aircraft from 2 (F) Wing were scrambled on, and intercepted a USSR IL-14 aircraft which was flying on a scheduled flight to Zurich, but was off flight planned course. The F-86’s escorted the aircraft to the Swiss border.
