    The RCAF made use of a civil hospital (Hotel Dieu) in Lelling until facilities were operational on the station.

    The advance party for 2 Wing was initially posted to Metz and these personnel were billeted on the economy. They travelled to/from 2 Wing on a daily basis until facilities were available at Grostenquin.
