On 18 Jun, CFCO, S/L Austin visited the Tower and GCA.
On "Operation Argus", 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs 6 Jun, eight aircraft were employed. On an air evacuation 13 Jun, the patient gave birth to a baby in flight. The aircraft returned to Marville, with patient and baby in satisfactory condition.
Two aircraft experienced difficulty and crash alert procedure was carried out.

FS Labelle departed for Canada and Nevada to participate in "Exercise Plumbob". Shortly after his arrival in Ottawa, he suffered a heart attack and was confined to hospital

F/O AL Gunn and Cpl RE Harding departed to participate in the same exercise.
During the first week in June, a special course in Radiological Monitoring and Atomic Defence was given by the Ground Defence School to the three officers and seventeen NCOs from Air Division Units, who were to participate in "Exercise Plumbob". This exercise was the current series of atomic tests taking place at the Atomic Proving Grounds, Nevada, USA.

Canada Day was celebrated at 1 (F) Wing. Among the ninety-nine special guests were French dignitaries and American Army and Air Force senior officers. These guests were given a conducted tour of the station and were entertained at a reception in the Officer's Mess. A fastball exhibition game commenced at 1400 hrs. CF-100 and Sabre 6 individual displays and flypasts thrilled the spectators. At 1540 hrs a firing on display took place at the gun butts. In the evening an All Ranks Dance was held in the Recreation Center.

The Station Pipe and Drum Band participated in Bastille Day Celebrations at Longwy-Bas on 13 Jul and at Montmedy and Stenay on 14 Jul.

Dr. John Meiklejohn from Ottawa conducted a drama clinic for service personnel and adult dependents. This clinic incuded instructions for the actor, the producer, the stage manager, makeup and house manager.

1 (F) Wing Pipe Band participated in the premiere of the J Arthur Rank film, "Campbell's Kingdom", in London, England. The Canadian High Commissioner and other Canadian dignitaries attended. The band's performance included piping down the aisles of the theatre and on stage as a preliminary to the presentation of these dignitaries. On arrival at the airport, bandsmen were greeted by J Arthur Rank star, Barbara Murray, and other officials.

At 1230 hrs, the alert on Operation Counterpunch was received.

The commemoration of the Battle of Britain. Two detachments of one hundred airmen with a full complement of officers, warrant officers and NCOs participated in the parade, the Commanding Officer taking the salute. At 1100 hrs the detachments marched to their respective church services, the Roman Catholic church service being held in the Station Theatre and the Protestant Church service in the Recreation Centre.
The Station Band participated in the Battle of Britain Parade at 30 AMB Langar.

At 1810 hrs, the Landres microwave site was knocked out by a small armed party, who inflicted an estimated 75% casualties on the defenders.

0600 hrs, Operation Counterpunch was completed. AFP of 1 (F) Wing apprehended the first agent, which resulted in all Wings being advised of the "modus operandi" being used by the Canadian Army, the assasin and one saboteur.

Elections for the PMQ Council were held. S/L CW Briggs was elected Mayor. Fourteen councillors for the fourteen wards were also elected.

Fire Prevention Week. Open house was held in the fire hall, everyone being welcome to visit and inspect the fire trucks, fire hall and other equipment. Fire fighters gave demonstrations and put on displays. Personnel were given practical demonstrations in the use of small fire fighting equipment.

The Station Band took part in the NATO Concert at Karlsruhe, Germany, in which German Air Force, French Air Force and USAF bands also participated, the German Air Force acting as host.

1 (F) Wing won the 1 Air Division Golden Ball Basketball Tournament held at 2 (F) Wing. The women's and men's teams won both championships.
Special group 4 examinations were held for Sergeants and Flight Sergeants in the aircraft trades. This was the first time that Sergeants were permitted to write these examinations.

A professional wrestling show took place in the Recreation Center. There were four matches, including one tag team and a female match with performers from France, Switzerland and Hungary.

French conversational classes commenced to give personnel a conversational knowledge of the language. The instructor is a civilian, Monsieur M Francois of St. Laurent-sur-Athain, and is employed as a full-time language instructor. He holds approximately twenty-two classes per week in the Education Centre and DND School.

An Armistice Day Ceremony was held at 1100 hrs consisting of two Church Parades, one Protestant and one Roman Catholic and a cenotaph ceremony. The Guard of Honour participated in the ceremony at the Montmedy War Memorial. Personnel also took part in parades at the Marville War Memorial and Longuyon War Memorial, where presentations of wreaths were made.
