412 SQN COMET DETACHMENT
RCAF STATION UPLANDS, ONTARIO

INFORMATION

Owing to the shortage of suitable hangar space and the inadequacy of the runways at RCAF Station Rockcliffe, the Comet Detachment of 412 Sqn is to be located at RCAF Station Uplands, Ontario. In order that permanent arrangements at Station Uplands can be made for this Detachment, an Organization Order is required.

INTENTION

To locate the Comet Detachment of 412 Sqn permanently at RCAF Station Uplands.

EXECUTION

EFFECTIVE DATE:

Effective 28 May 53, 412 Sqn Comet Detachment is to be located at RCAF Station Uplands.

ROLE:

The Role of thus Detachment is to:

1. Provide Fighter affiliation for Air Defence Command

2. Test the radar defences of Canada

3. Carry out other operations as assigned to ATC by AFHQ.

CONTROL:

The control of 412 Sqn and the Comet Detachment thereof is to be exercised by the AOC ATC through the CO RCAF Station Rockcliffe.

Disciplinary control of 412 Sqn and the Comet Detachment thereof is to be exercised by the AOC ATC through the CO RCAF Station Rockcliffe.

COMMAND:

The Commanding Officer, RCAF Station Rockcliffe, is to authorize the OC 412 Sqn to appoint a delegated officer pursuant to QR (Air) 108.10.

ESTABLISHMENT

Establishment 1 50 IB 212 is to remain in effect.

PERSONNEL

The Transfer and/or posting of personnel is to be arranged by ATCHQ.

ACCOUNTING:

For the purpose of QR (Air) Art 205.30 an AFAO F5.30 this Detachment is to be designated as a Flying Unit.

SUPPLY:

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOC ADC and the AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16, Vol 1.

ACCOMMODATION AND MESSING

Accommodation and messing are to be provided by the CO, RCAF Station Uplands.

MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE:

Medical and dental care are to be provided by the CO, RCAF Station Uplands.

GENERAL

Personnel of 412 Sqn Comet Detachment are to abide by the Station Standing Orders of RCAF Station Uplands.
