Briefing for exercise Ardent took place at 1400 hrs.

11 Oct 52

Exercise commenced 1000 hours. 439 Squadron operating from Horsham St. Faith at Norwich.

12 Oct 52

Exercise Ardent continued, at readiness from 0630 to 1900 hrs. 16 pilots available. 16 a/c serviceable. Total hours 37:15. The exercise continued successfully, the only hitch being that too many fighters were attacking the so-called bomber force (Many near mid-air collisions.)

Wing debriefing at 1000 hours on exercise "Ardent". Discussion of R/T Discipline, and general errors made in the air during the exercise followed.
