Dear Sir:
Enclosed is copy of a letter received from the Deputy Minister of Mines for the Province of Newfoundland from which you will note that the lands reserved in your Department's favour for use as a Gap Filler Site in Fox Harbour are now no longer required for this purpose and the Province has requested their return.
Also enclosed is copy of Provincial Order in Council 698-57 of October 10th, 1957, which authorized the transfer of the administration and control of the Provincial lands to your Department subject to the condition that they would revert to the Province in the event that they ceased to be used for a Gap Filler. Will you please advise whether or not your Department wishes to retain these lands and if not may they be reconveyed to the Province.
