- The pump house and Second Cow lake - 1944.
Power was generated right on the station. At first we also drank this water. Chlorine taste, smell and miscellaneous insect parts eventually caused us to give up water. Then the Cook rebelled and we found good well water, in small quantities, in the village; enough for his cooking and for tea and coffee.

The builsing on the left housed the Administration Offices. The Officer's quarters were at the far end of this building. The small building beyond it was a store-room. On the right hand side (foreground) we can see a corner of the Airmen's barracks. Beyond that in the Mess Hall/Canteen. The tallest smoke stack is from the Furnace Room which was attached to the back of the main building. Note the overhead insulated steam heat pipes crossing over the road to the Admin Building.

(Left - The entrance to the small library. Turn left to the Canteen or right to the Mess Hall. Center - Rear half of the Administration building (Officer's quarters. The small building at the rear was the Works and Buildings workshop. Right - The guard house and wireless transmitter. The volleyball court was ro the right of the pile of rocks.

- We needed rocks, gravel, and sand as fill for our road building and for the volleyball court which was built on a pot-hole - 1944.
